Saturday Behr Pick: Plaid

Here we are - another weekend that's starting out pretty yucky weather-wise. It's cool and overcast outside and it's been like this all week. It's July for crying out loud! I suspect So Cal will be hit with a heat wave in October. Crazy weather.

My tendonitis in my right knee has been giving me trouble all week. A couple years ago, while working at the theater, I developed this condition in my right knee. Last year, while in Oakland for work, I slipped and fell on my knees, which aggravated it again. Not sure what I did but this morning I can barely bend my knee without seeing white lights. Last night I iced it then put some lidocaine patches on it in hopes it would help reduce the swelling and relieve the pain. No such luck. I'll survive; it just makes it difficult to accomplish some chores.

My depression has lifted for the most part. Keeping busy and staying off the bear social networking site has helped. I'll probably give it another week or so then return to the site; I check in occasionally just to answer any messages from guys who don't quite understand the "taking a break" comment in my profile.

One bright spot is a friend in SF is thinking of coming down for a long weekend. He's never been to the LA area so it will be fun to show him the sights: Hollywood Blvd., the Griffith Park observatory, Santa Monica pier, and of course, Disneyland!
