Behr Pick: Kicking Back

Today is a day set aside to remember those who have served - and are serving - in the U.S. armed forces. The duty and sacrifice that these men and women have made is something the rest of us take for granted. I say "Thank you" to all those who have and are serving. Your dedication and desire to uphold the Constitution and to ensure that Democracy reigns in this country is admirable.

To the President of the United States of America and to Congress I say "Repeal DADT now! There is absolutely no reason why gay, lesbian, and bisexuals should not be able to openly serve. Stop listening to the homophobic ramblings of Senator McCain. Start believing in that Constitution that our armed forces uphold: 'all men are created equal.'"

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I have today off in honor of Veteran's Day. I'm also taking tomorrow off as a vacation day. So I'm on the beginning of my 4-day weekend. If I hadn't been committed to the theater I would have taken a little weekend getaway trip.

Today I plan to do my usual Saturday things: laundry, housecleaning, shopping, etc. That way I can enjoy the rest of the weekend and get some other stuff done. I haven't opened my garage in months; I really need to clean it out so I can get to the holiday decorations. I think I'll hit Disneyland tomorrow for a few hours.

Disneyland? I was thinking about that just yesterday - I was thinking about visiting my cousins in Orlando and hang out at Downtown Disney - I might still try and go this weekend!
