Behr Pick: Spring

Happy First Day of Spring.

If I don't sound enthusiastic it's because this past week the Los Angeles area experienced wonderful sunshine and warmer daytime temperatures. And today it's cold and rainy. WTF?

Still....the flowers are starting to bloom and the grass is greening up. My roses look wonderful. I should have cut some for the house because they'll get beat to death with the rain and wind. Typical March weather I suppose.

Happy Spring. BEHR HUGS

Behr Pick: Dan

Thank you to all who gave words of encouragement regarding my presentation that I was to give yesterday. Unfortunately, the meeting was cancelled and therefore the presentation postponed as well. This wasn't too traumatic for me as I spent the day furiously working on another project for which my deliverable is EOM. So a two-week delay wasn't heartbreaking.

Aside from work, my life has been just as boring and dull as ever! I'm making good progress on Ken Follett's World Without End; it is the sequel to his Pillars of the Earth. I considered rereading that phenomenal novel first but opted not to; turns out it is set generations later with a whole new cast of characters. I'm enjoying it for the thread of actual history running through the story.

Other than that, not much to report. What's new in your world?

Sunday Favorite: 55

I like today's favorite for its sensuality and the spontaneity it evokes. The fact that the two guys appear to be average, middle-aged, thickening-around-the-middle guys makes this far hotter than a couple of buff porn stars. And who among us can resist a passionate kiss between two men?

I'm not going to lament the time change (for my American friends). We all hate it. It's a stupid idea. It's needless. But it is what it is.

On Tuesday I will be presenting a proposal to the company group that oversees the sales force about combining training classes and resources into one session. After it was all arranged I realized my presentation falls on the Ides of March. Should I be worried?

Behr TV: RuPaul's Drag Race

As I've mentioned elsewhere and possibly here, I've been watching Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race on Hulu since I don't have cable/satellite TV. This morning I was very sad to see Delta Work sashay away.

You either love Delta or hate Delta. I fall into the first category. I love her look. Her makeup is impeccable. Her style is classy. Her humor has me laughing. She's absolutely beautiful. I loved her "read" of the other dragtestants in the Library because she didn't go for the obvious humor. I thought her chupacabra read of Yara was hysterical. In comparison, the others all commented on her size which, as Delta said, it obvious. I know it's how the tape is edited but she should have won that mini-challenge, not Shangela. I thought Delta looked absolutely beautiful last night on the runway.

A quick word about Shangela: Someone needs to bitch slap that smirk off her face. Yes, Delta may have gone home last night but no other dragtestant has been shown getting more love on her exit from the runway than she did. Delta's sashay away was NOT Shangela's doing. Shangela is second-rate in comparison to all of the others.

I will continue to root for Raja. I know there are those who dislike her but I love her outspokenness and her creative risks; her runway looks are stunning.

I may have the opportunity next week to see Delta perform live. I'm looking forward to experiencing her live. RuPaul's Season 3 will not be the same going forward.

Backing Off....and Trivia

My heart just has not been into blogging lately. I've thought of things to share - thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3, other thoughts on the Academy Awards and movies in general, personal stuff going on - but whenever I attempt to write something I either get so long-winded no one will read it or I realize that the negativity is off-putting.

So the Behr is going to back off a little from the blogging thing. No more daily entries. Only when the mood strikes or if I come across a picture or piece of information that I just have to share.

Speaking of sharing (see...long-windedness) here's a bit of trivia I found online:

In ancient Greece, no term existed for homosexuality. There were only some expressions referring to specific homosexual roles. Experts find this baffling as the old Greek culture held love between males in the highest regard. According to several linguists, the word "homosexual" was not coined until 1869 by Hungarian physician Karoly Maria Benkert.
