Behr Pick: Furry Friday + News

It's Furry Friday!

I'm featuring this woofy bear in a bright orange speedo because here in So Cal the weather has been on par with Spring or Autumn and not Summer. I'm actually okay with this, really, because as I get older I find that I am having a more difficult time dealing with the heat.

Back to the furry goodness: just looking at him makes me feel all sorts of things. Mostly naughty things. Not that that is a bad thing! I love the trail from under his pecs to his belly button. Grrrr! And that beard is immaculate!

On to my news: I saw the ENT again today. Today's appointment last maybe 5 minutes. At least I didn't have to pay the co-pay required by my insurance company. Well the deal is this: It's not an alien nesting in my head. I think it's the alien's egg inside my head. I think it looks like this:

Lovely, isn't it?

Seriously, I do have a cyst-like mass inside my sinus cavity. In about 3 weeks I will have endoscopic sinus surgery. In other words, the doctor will shove something up my nose and scrape out the insides of my sinus cavities, thereby removing said alien egg. (It really could just be a hardened snot ball but that's not nearly as exciting as an alien egg!) It's an outpatient procedure. I was assured by the nurse that I'll be given pain killers for post-procedure pain. Yahoo! Hand me the vodka while you're at it!

To be honest I'm a bit surprised. I really thought it was going to be nothing. I'm hoping, however, that after I'm healed there will be fewer sinus problems and headaches of that nature. Thankfully I have good insurance and the doctor seems competent.

Did I mention he'll pack my sinuses afterward and I won't be able to breathe through my nose? Yeah...really looking forward to that. Imagine my anticipation of having the packing removed! I'm sure some of you have undergone far worse procedures. I thought my kidney biopsy a few years ago was bad. This is going to really prove my mettle. I just hope I don't cry like a big ole girl.

So there's the Behrmark Update....live from Southern California! I'm looking forward to the weekend. Aside from chores (laundry, grocery shopping, etc) I'll be going to a little party Sunday afternoon where large quantities of alcohol are expected to be consumed. Now that I am looking forward to! I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend and watch out for those alien eggs!

BEHR HUGS!!

Today is the Day

Today is the day I see the ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist and will find out if it's a cyst, tumor, or alien nesting in my head. I really think it's going to be a "non-event" meaning it is going to turn out to be a minor condition. I'm relying on the attending physician who says the specialist should be able to take care of it without surgery. I'm really not that worried.

I'm also seeing the ophthalmologist in the afternoon since it's been about three years and I'm fairly certain my eyes have changed. And not for the better. It's never for the better, is it? If my prescription has changed I'm hoping to get new lenses and keep my cool Prada frames. I also want to get a spare pair of glasses. I only have the one pair plus prescription sunglasses. A second pair would ease mind about accidentally damaging my Prada pair.

So what all this means is I'm not going to work and could sleep in. Oh how I wish I could have awakened next to this absolutely gorgeous man, Zied. Although not furry he's a beefy hunk and my word! look at those pectorals! He's just waiting for a tongue bath! I would happily oblige.

Yesterday I had a nice little incident happen. I was walking toward the Red Line - it's the Los Angeles underground light rail - and was waiting for the light to change at an intersection. Some guy walked up next to me and I really didn't think anything about it. Through my peripheral vision I noticed he turned toward me. Since I was listening to my iPod, I heard muffled sound so I pulled out the one earphone and said "I'm sorry?" He said "It's awfully cool for summer." I responded in agreement, saying something about it almost being August and we have yet to have summer weather. He smiled and then the light changed and off we went. We weren't exactly in step but he also was going down into the subway system. He veered off toward another line and that was that. I just was kind of taken aback that a total stranger - make that a CUTE total stranger - would speak to me about something as innocuous as the weather, especially since I was listening to myiPod. The only explanation I can offer is that he saw the NOH8 button on my backpack and he wanted to speak to me.

I'll post an update later today or perhaps tomorrow morning on the two appointments. Wish me luck - I'd really hate for it to be an alien nesting in my head. BEHR HUGS!!

Saturday Stud & Health Update

This man is so beautiful. I wish I knew more about him other than what's apparent to the eye. Furry, muscular, tattooed, handsome, woofy....I must be feeling better because all sorts of naughty thoughts are going through my head!

So yesterday I stayed home from work in order to see the doctor about the sharp pains in my head. Doctor M, my regular doctor, wasn't available so I so Doctor D. I guess the world of medicine has changed drastically since the last time I had an immediate medical issue. My former GP would have looked in my nose, throat, ears, eyes and made a diagnosis based on what he saw coupled with my explanation of what I'm experiencing. Not so with Dr. D. He did check my eyes but that's about all. He asked me a lot of questions like whether I saw double vision and if I could touch his finger with my finger then touch my nose (I told him I wasn't drunk). He then ordered x-rays of my sinus cavities and a CT scan of my head. He claimed it was sinusitis but I guess he wanted to rule out a brain tumor or an alien nesting in my head. So I had both done yesterday. I wish I could tell you it went smoothly but it did not. However...of the technicians I met, all three were male and all three were c-u-t-e. Why is it we meet cute guys when we feel like crap?

As per the doctor's instructions, I called his office to find out the results of these procedures. As it turns out, I have no brain bleeding or swelling, a good thing. However, my sinuses are inflamed (DUH!) and - here's the kicker - he thinks there's a cyst in one of my sinus cavities. This would explain the frequent headaches and pain. He has referred me to an ENT for further treatment. Of course, it was after 5 pm so I'll have to call on Monday. In the meantime, I am to take Tylenol for the pain. That's fine and dandy except I had already mentioned that Tylenol didn't touch the pain!

This morning I'm feeling better. The pain only occurs occasionally but I'm sure as the day goes on it'll get worse. So I guess after all there IS something growing in me head although not as exciting as a tumor or alien.

I plan to do some chores around the house, watch movies, and pretty much just take it easy. I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday! BEHR HUGS!!
